Dr. Morris has performed hundreds of laser procedures for onychomycosis (nail fungus) and achieved excellent results in even some of the most severe cases. He currently uses PinPointe FootLaser and Cutera Laser Genesis which are the most advanced lasers now available and FDA cleared for treatment of nail fungus infections. Laser treatment for toenail fungus has been clinically proven, safe and effective, posing none of the risks and harmful side effects of oral anti-fungal medications.
Nail fungus is a naturally occurring organism that breeds in warm, moist conditions such as shower floors where it is often contracted. Once infected, toenails become brittle, thick, and discolored. The condition affects at least 10% of the U.S. population. It is frequently an embarrassing condition that can impact quality of life for many patients and may present serious health concerns for diabetics and those with compromised immune systems.
The Treatment Process
Our innovative laser treatment for toenail fungus was uniquely devised by Dr. Morris based on his experience with hundreds of patients. The process includes an initial 30 minute treatment session with follow-up treatments at two and four months. A final evaluation will be at six months. Nail laser treatment of both feet is recommended for optimal results and to avoid cross contamination. The treatment is typically painless, but you may experience a sensation of warmth from the laser. The laser works by penetrating the nail plate to destroy the fungus in the nail bed. Results are seen as the new nail begins to grow out from the root. It usually takes nine months to a year for a new healthy nail to grow out completely.
Preparation and Post Procedure
To prepare for the procedure, all nail polish and decorations must be removed. Following treatment, you may immediately return to your normal activities. Nail polish may be applied as desired. At home care will be recommended to prevent recurrence.
